About this Episode

In honour of World Suicide Prevention Day 2026, Caitlin and Lexie sit down with Sidney Stacy, Chair of the Suicide Prevention Community Council for Hamilton (SPCCH) and Assistant Professor (PT) in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioural Neurosciences at McMaster University. He shares his personal story that has motivated him to become a key advocate for suicide prevention strategies in the community and how people can show up for those struggling with mental health challenges in meaningful ways.

SPCCH is an organization that bridges community partners, service providers, and people with lived experience to prevent suicide, reduce stigma, and promote mental health. In this episode, we discuss the resources and tools that are available for suicide prevention and the misconceptions about suicide.

To learn more about SPCCH and get in touch with Sid, please email [email protected] or visit www.spcch.org.
