Sexual violence refers to any violence, physical or psychological, carried out through sexual means or by targeting sexuality (United Nations). All people are potential victims of sexual assault, regardless of gender, age, race, religion, sexual orientation, education or physical description. Some people however, are at higher risk for any type of violence, including sexual assault.
